MARGRIET VAN DER BERG - Dutch illustrator
After graduating as a textile designer, she spent several years in the field of interior design. After another year at art school at Artez in Arnhem, she founded her own brand: IsaBella Illustrations. Her main activity is designing postcards and textiles. Inspired by fairy tales, nature and childhood, Margriet loves to create dreamy, atmospheric watercolor works - which are perfect for illustrating children's books, which has been a long-cherished dream of hers. www.isabella-illustrations.nl
"If you stop dreaming, you stop living
Daydreaming, fantasizing, seeing everyday things from a different perspective... I do this all day long. It's part of my being. It makes life a little more beautiful, a little richer. I try to capture this in my work. By looking at things differently, I search for the essence or evoke feelings. As an illustrator, I have the opportunity to step out of reality and create a new world. And I find it magical! Every single time.
I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil. I decided in 2012 that this would be my profession. Since 2019, I have had a wonderful collaboration with Zintenz Publishers, for whom I develop card series. I have also illustrated several books for Clavis Publishers."
