The history of IGLU is closely linked to its parent company, PEPI RER, which has been a leader in the production of polyethylene foam for more than 25 years and is the leading manufacturer in Northern Europe with a team of 200 industrial professionals. Working daily with polyethylene foam, they could see its amazing capabilities. It was clear to them that this material was capable of great things. And they were right.
Since 2015, IGLU products have been hand-made in their hometown, fulfilling more than 100,000 orders worldwide. More than 30% of their team consists of young parents. Not only do they share great product ideas, but they also help us test what we make.
Not all foam is the same. Most soft block manufacturers use polyurethane, also known as foam rubber. IGLU manufacturers use polyethylene, which is an excellent form of foam. Their foam is more durable and keeps its shape. It is very dense, yet light and water cannot flow into it, so it is very easy to clean.
