The family business, now run by the second generation, is located in a picturesque, natural setting in Laupheim, on the beautiful Swabian Mountains.
In the 1990s, driven by his love and appreciation for wood, Gerold Hertenberger decided to become a carpenter. This eventually led him to work at his father's wooden toy manufacturing company, where he initially worked directly with wood and created wooden materials before joining the management team at the turn of the millennium.
Since then, much has happened at nic in Laupheim. The practical and value-driven family business has not only developed into an important and recognized German wooden toy manufacturer, but has also expanded with new product lines. These include—most notably—the Walter series of baby wooden toys and the wonderful, diverse world of Glückskäfer children's toys.
